I am a university student and my Passat is the only thing that gets me to class and to my part time job, so money is very tight. I have a 2014 Volkswagen Passat with the automatic gearbox and about 150,000 kilometers. My dad bought it for me when I started university, and honestly I have never thought about the gearbox once. It drives fine, but last week a classmate asked me when I last changed the gearbox oil, and I had no answer. I called my dad and he did not know either. My classmate says if you skip it, the gearbox will die early and I will pay a lot more later. My roommate says that is only a scare story and that I should leave the oil alone because it has worked so far. I did not know who to believe, so one night I read about it online. I opened a page about Volkswagen cars on a Sharjah website to learn how the gearbox and the oil work together. It said old oil can slowly wear the inside parts, and that a small service now costs less than a big repair later. That made sense to me, but my wallet is still scared. Then a coworker at my job told me to look for an Affordable Volkswagen transmission service near Industrial Area 10 and ask them to show me the old oil before they put in the new one. He said a good place will also tell me clearly if the service can wait a few months. I liked that advice because I cannot pay for everything at once. So I have some questions. How often should the gearbox oil be changed on a Passat like mine, by time or by distance? Is it risky to change the oil on a car with 150,000 kilometers that never had it done? Can I ask the garage to do only the oil and skip the extra things, or will they push me to add more? And about how long does it take, and what is a fair price for a basic service? If you kept an older Volkswagen running on a small budget, please tell me what you did and how it has worked for you. Thanks a lot.

I have a small car problem that is getting worse each week, so I hope someone here has seen it before. I have a 2020 Lincoln Aviator and I use it every day for work and for taking my parents to appointments. About two weeks ago the AC fan started to sound very loud, almost like a small engine behind the dashboard. But the air that comes out is only a little cool, and my mother says her feet feel warm even when the fan is on high. Yesterday there was also a faint plastic smell for a minute after I turned it on. My brother says it is just the heat and I should not worry. My friend has an older Navigator and he told me it could be a tired blower motor, a dirty filter, or even a small leak, and that a loud fan with weak air should not be ignored. I did not know who to believe, so one night I read about it online. I opened a page about Lincoln cars on a Sharjah website to learn how the fan, the filter and the cooling parts work together. It said that a loud fan can come from dust or a worn motor, and that weak air can come from a blocked filter, low gas or a part behind the dashboard that moves the air. That helped me understand the words a little better. Then a coworker told me to look for a Lincoln AC specialist in Sharjah and ask them to check the fan and the filter first, before they add any gas. I liked that advice because I do not want to pay for something I may not need. So I have some questions. Is a loud fan with weak cooling usually the blower motor, or can it be something else? Can I change the cabin filter myself on an Aviator, or is it hard to reach? Is the plastic smell something I should worry about, and is it safe to keep using the AC? And about how long does a proper check take, and what is a fair price? If you had the same thing on your Aviator, Navigator or another Lincoln, please tell me what it was and about how much you paid. We started a bathroom refresh a few weeks ago thinking it would be straightforward, but the tiler walked off the job halfway through and now I'm left with a half finished wall and no idea what to do next. I've had two other guys come look and both gave me completely different stories about what needs doing, which has left me more confused than before. A friend told me to see more details about how a proper bathroom remodel should be sequenced, because apparently the order things get done matters more than I realised, and that might explain why the first guy got stuck. But I'd rather hear from people who've actually been through this. Has anyone had to rescue a half finished job? Did you have to rip out what was already done or could it be salvaged? I'm trying not to panic but the bathroom is unusable and I'm running out of patience with the whole thing.

Took my Grand Cherokee in for a rough idle and the garage jumped straight to quoting me for four new injectors, which felt like a big leap from a twenty minute look. I've only had the car about a year and I'm not sure it actually needs replacement rather than a clean. Someone mentioned there's a Jeep injector cleaning specialist in MBZ City who actually diagnoses properly instead of guessing, and I'm thinking a second opinion is sensible before I commit to that kind of money. Has anyone been quoted for replacements and then found out a clean was all it needed? I don't want to be that person who ignores good advice and ends up paying twice, but I also don't like the idea of throwing parts at a problem. How do you even tell the difference between a clogged injector and a failing one?

I've had my Ghost for about two years now and I keep noticing little things that make me paranoid, like the car settling slightly overnight or the compressor running for longer than I remember. It might be totally normal but I've got no baseline to compare against, and I don't want to be the guy who ignores a warning until the whole system packs in. I found a page on Rolls Royce suspension repair and hit see more to read the full breakdown of symptoms, which was actually quite useful because it listed things I wouldn't have thought to check. But I'd rather hear from actual owners. How do you distinguish between the car doing its self levelling thing and an actual leak? And is there anything you can check yourself before booking it in somewhere? I'd rather not pay for a diagnostic if I'm just being overly cautious about nothing.

We've got a Land Cruiser for the family trips and a Camry for the daily commute, and I've been taking them to different garages depending on which one needs attention, which is getting confusing. I'd much rather find one workshop that knows both models and can keep track of what's been done on each. I'm in Musaffah so I've been looking into Affordable Toyota Land Cruiser and Camry maintenance in Musaffah, but I'm not sure how to judge whether a place is equally good with both or just comfortable with one. Has anyone kept two Toyotas going at the same workshop and been happy with the arrangement? Also, does it actually save money to consolidate, or does it make no difference? I'd rather keep it simple if the quality holds up.

We had that freak hailstorm a while back and I ended up with about a dozen small dents across the bonnet and roof, nothing huge but enough that it looks like a golf ball in certain light. I assumed it meant a full respray but someone told me Dent repair without paint at Exotic Auto Services can handle hail damage. I'm sceptical though, because that's a lot of dents in one area. Has anyone had hail damage repaired this way and did it come out completely smooth or could you still see faint marks? Also, roughly how many dents can they do in a day, since I've got quite a few and I don't want the car gone for a week. Insurance wanted to write it off as cosmetic but it bothers me every time I look at it.

My car's fabric seats have reached the point where no amount of cleaning is helping, there are stains that have set in and the fabric itself is looking worn and bobbly. I've been quoted for a full leather retrim which feels excessive for a car that's not worth a huge amount, but I don't want to just live with grubby seats either. I'm near MBZ City so I've been looking at Affordable seat covers and interior retrim near MBZ City, and there seem to be options at various price points, but I'm not sure whether covers are a genuine solution or just a stopgap. Has anyone used decent seat covers long term and been happy? Or did you find retrimming was the only thing that actually fixed the problem? I'd rather spend once than keep trying cheap fixes.
